Believe

“If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you.”

Satoshi Nakamoto

Drawing parallels from Christianity, Believe explores Bitcoin not just as code, a network or a movement - but as a religion.

Satoshi Nakamoto is pictured hanging on the cross. The raw hex data of the genesis block of Bitcoin is embossed on the wooden beams - his burden to bear. The nails impaling Satoshi are fiat currencies, restricting freedom and dooming him to departure. The cross is is set on inverted, cracked and dirty dollar notes, symbolising the broken economic system we reside in.

However, is it not all despair.

Behind the cross is a shining light, representing Bitcoin’s message of freedom radiating out to the world. By Satoshi making the ultimate sacrifice and disappearing, his creation continues to grow stronger each day, giving humanity the hope of a better life with every block minted.

This piece is not for the fair weather Bitcoiners.

This piece is for the faithful. The true believers.

The artwork looks stunning with or without external light. The handmade LED array has a remote which can adjust brightness and constant/pulsing light. The piece is protected in an etched and varnished wooden box, surrounded by a bed of shredded fiat paper.
